GIS Day
GIS Day For GIS Day this year I spent some time with my sister on zoom diving into GIS the science, the industry, and the work life. Since I began my certificate program at UWF for GIS my sister and I will talk about how school is going. At some point she started to become interested in what it is that I'm doing and just recently she asked me about a potential career in GIS for her. Since GIS Day was coming up we made a plan to meet on zoom or google meet, whichever was easiest and from there I screen shared and showed her all of my work from my blog site, my story map, and some of what I do for my job. Afterwards, we did some job searches for local openings near her and then talked about how to get started if she wanted to pursue the path of GIS. We had a fun time laughing and talking about ideas and its always good since we live so far apart. But over all, GIS Day was a success and look forward to more.
