Damage Assessment

   In this module we were tasked with assessing the damage caused by Hurricane Sandy in 2012 along the New Jersey coast line. 

    We looked at a study area that included roughly 100 residential homes. In this study area we assessed the damage that was caused and classified it into five categories. 

Above is a screenshot of my domains created for this assessment. Each point that was created fell within one of these classifications. All the homes were residential or unknown. 

Below is a screenshot of the study area of homes that were affected by the storm surge damage. You can see that the homes closest to the shore were completely destroyed and washed away. Homes that were directly behind those were severely damaged by home debris washed into them. Flooding of this area was completely throughout. 

My analysis included setting a fixed scale to navigate the study area and using Pre-Sandy imagery to refer back to.
